New wetlands to curb pollution in Canning River

The State Government will today unveil a new wetland aimed at reducing pollution entering the Canning River.

"The $1-million project has transformed a contaminated drainage basin in Welshpool into a thriving ecosystem. The Environment Minister Bill Marmion says the wetland will improve water quality by reducing nutrients and other contaminants entering the Canning River. The project was completed in conjunction with the Swan River Trust and local landcare group."
